The implementation plan sets priorities based on the Delta Vision Strategic Plan developed by the Governor's Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force.

Delta Vision Workshop
The Delta Vision Committee chaired by Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman will hold the first of two workshops to solicit public opinion on recommendations to the Governor for implementation of the Delta Vision Strategic Plan. The first workshop will be held Friday, November 21, in Long Beach.

The Governor’s Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force concluded its work, adopting a Strategic Plan that proposes an integrated approach to the woes of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The plan culminates 20 months of work by the seven-member Task Force that received hundreds of comments from stakeholders and many citizens. The Task Force’s final plan will be released in early November.

Final Task Force Meeting
The Governor's Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force will meet for the last time to make final recommendations on its strategic plan to guide the future of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The plan will then be presented to the Delta Vision Committee chaired by Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman with recommendations to the Governor for the plan's implementation.

Third Staff Draft Strategic Plan
The third staff draft of the Delta Vision Strategic Plan is now available for downloading. The third plan will be discussed by the Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force at its August 21-22 meeting. Public comment can be made to the plan by September 2 for inclusion in the next draft and by September 30 for inclusion in the final draft.

Delta Town Hall Meetings
Three town hall meetings will be held June 23-25 in the Delta to discuss numerous efforts that are going on in the estuary and open a dialogue with Delta residents. Ongoing town hall meetings will be planned in the future to maintain an open exchange of information.

Strategic Plan Participation
The Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force is inviting participation in the development of its Strategic Plan for the Delta. Submissions may be made for governance and strategic finance, reliable water for California and incorporating the principles of reasonable use and public trust. Submissions by May 9, 2008, will be considered for inclusion in the first draft of the Strategic Plan.

Delta Vision Science Advisors Issue Levee Memo
Delta Vision's science advisors have released a memo debunking some commonly held beliefs about Delta levees; for example, they do not always help to sustain a healthy Delta ecosystem and, in fact, may be the cause of many current ecological problems by cutting off critical exchanges of materials between land and water.
